FRAMSÓKN GENERAL MEETING will be held 10-12 April 2015 in Reykjavik, as the meeting was approved at the mid-management meeting of Framsókn in Hornafjörður over the past weekend.
The Progressive Party holds regular general meetings which are convened by the autumn meeting of the mid-management, no less often than every other year and it should, as a rule, be held in the first half of the year.
FRAMSÓKN GENERAL MEETING determines the main policy of the party in national affairs, sets laws for the party and has the highest authority in its matters. At the general meeting, the chairman of the Progressive Party shall be elected and he shall also be the chairman of the party's mid-management. Furthermore, the vice-chairman, secretary, and two auditors shall be elected at the general meeting. Two co-managers in the legal committee and two alternates shall also be elected. Additionally, two co-managers of the ethics committee and two alternates shall be elected.
Each party association has the right to send one representative with the right to vote to the general meeting for every 15 members or a fraction thereof. An equal number of alternates shall be elected. The number of representatives shall be based on the membership list as it appears at the party's office 30 days before the general meeting, however, considering Article 2.4. The arrangement of election of representatives is in accordance with the laws of individual member associations. Member associations shall announce their choice of representatives to the party office no later than a week before the general meeting is held. All members of the party have the right to attend the general meeting and have the right to speak and propose.
Mid-management members have a seat at the general meeting with the right to vote.
