38th Framsókn Party Conference in Reykjavik 14th-15th February 2026
The autumn meeting of the central committee has called for the 38th Framsókn Party Congress on the weekend of 14th-15th February 2026 at Hilton Reykjavík Nordica in Reykjavík. At the congress, the main policy of the party on national issues will be formulated, key positions elected, and new or revised party laws enacted.
According to Framsókn's laws, a party congress is to be held no less often than every other year and usually in the first half of the year. The party congress has supreme authority on the party's matters.
Among the agenda of the congress is to elect the chairman of Framsókn, who will also be the chairman of the central committee, as well as a vice-chairman, secretary, and two auditors. Then there will be elections to the legislative committee and the ethics committee; two members and two substitutes to each committee.
Key dates and deadlines
15th January: The reference date for the membership number of affiliated associations.
30th January: Amendments must be submitted to the party office.
7th February at 10:00: Credentials must be submitted to the party office.
Representatives and participation
Each party association can send one representative with voting rights for every 15 members or fraction thereof. An equal number of alternates shall be elected. The number of representatives is based on the membership list available at the party's office 30 days before the party congress.
The election process of representatives is governed by the laws of the respective affiliated association. The selection of representatives must be notified to the party office no later than a week before the party congress is convened.
All members of Framsókn have the right to attend the party congress with the right to speak and propose motions, but central committee members also have voting rights at the congress.
