41. SUF Association Meeting

A meeting is called for the 41st National Convention of the Association of Young Framsókn Members (SUF) on 19 March 2016 in Akureyri. All young Framsókn members (35 years and younger) have the right to attend the convention.

According to article 4.5 in the SUF laws, candidacies for chairman must be submitted to the office of the Framsókn party no later than two weeks before the opening of the convention or by Saturday, 5 March. Those interested in running for the SUF board are advised to contact the email suf@suf.is.

SUF members are encouraged to submit proposals for resolutions as soon as possible to the email suf@suf.is. Proposals submitted by Saturday, 12 March will be printed along with other convention documents. The proposals will be discussed in three topic groups that will be active at the convention.

According to article 7.5 in the SUF laws, proposals for amendments must be submitted no later than 14 days before the opening of the national convention or by Saturday, 5 March. Proposals must be submitted to the email suf@suf.is.

According to article 4.3 in the SUF laws, those who have registered with the Framsókn party 30 days before the convention have voting rights at the convention.

The convention will be held in the Lions Hall in Akureyri on Saturday, 19 March. A gala dinner will be held in the evening, joined by LFK members. It's clear that it will be quite an entertaining evening. Further information about the gala dinner will be provided later.

A bus will be available to and from Akureyri. The plan is for the bus to leave Reykjavík at 16:00 on Friday, 18 March, and return at noon on Sunday, 20 March. It is important to register for the bus by 1 March, and costs will be kept to a minimum. Registration for the bus is via suf@suf.is.

We encourage convention attendees to book accommodation as soon as possible, and we recommend Hotel Nordurland, Hotel KEA, and Icelandair Hotel Akureyri. There are also many holiday homes and guesthouses available in Akureyri.

The convention fee is 1,000,- which includes convention documents along with refreshments on Saturday.
